Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to extend an invitation for 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev next month.

Punjab Jail Minister accuses SGPC Chief of being a 'puppet'

Captain Amarinder Singh, who reached Delhi on Wednesday, will invite President and PM for celebrations at Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala on vember 12, official sources said on Wednesday. chief minister's meeting with President and PM assumes significance after Punjab minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa accused Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) of igring state government in extending invitation.

On September 25, Jail Minister Randhawa h also accused SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal of being a "puppet" in hands of Bal family. Randhawa was upset with SGPC chief, who h accompanied S chief Sukhbir Singh Bal and Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Bal, for extending an invitation to President and Prime Minister for function at Sultanpur Lodhi while igring state representative in coordination panel formed for joint celebrations.  

Randhawa, who is state government's representative in coordination panel for finalising programme, h also accused Bal family of trying to "sabot" decision of joint celebrations.
