Haryana BJP leaders denied ticket; CM says 'maan-samman' will be kept
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday assured party leaders who were denied tickets that party will keep their interests in mind once the elections are over

In a bid to placate BJP leers who were denied tickets for upcoming assembly polls, Haryana Chief Minister Mahar Lal Khattar on Tuesday assured m that party will keep ir interests in mind once elections are over. "I expect any party leer who even though did t get a BJP ticket considers party like his mor. We would ensure ir 'maan-samman' (hour). After elections, ir ' maan-samman' will be kept in party and government," Khattar said while talking to media before filing his mination papers. In BJP's first list of 78 candidates, two ministers Vipul Goel and Rao Narbir Singh were among seven MLAs who h been denied ticket.

While Goel was sitting MLA from Faridab, Rao Narbir Singh represented Bshahpur constituency in Gurgaon district. Besides, Deputy Speaker Santosh Yav, who represented Ateli constituency in Mahendergarh district, too was denied party ticket to re-contest from seat. Goel has been replaced by Narinder Gupta, Manish Yav comes in for Rao Narbir Singh and Sita Ram Yav has replaced Santosh Yav. However, among ministers who have been re-minated include Capt Abhimanyu, Ram Bilas Sharma, Anil Vij, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Karan Dev Kamboj, Kavita Jain and O P Dhankar. Khattar, who has been re-minated from Karnal, said BJP has anunced candidates for 78 seats and minees for remaining 12 seats will be anunced soon. To a question on three Olympians given minations by BJP, Khattar said se three are top-class players in ir respective fields. "We have fielded m in se elections. Definitely, y will win polls with a huge margin," he said.

Sports stars join BJP
Making ir electoral debut, wrestler Babita Phogat, former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh and Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt - All of whom joined party in recent weeks will contest from Dri, Pehowa and Baroda respectively. BJP h won 47 seats in 2014 assembly polls and after its win in Jind bypolls earlier this year, party's strength rose to 48. BJP has set a target of winning 75 plus seats this time.
