Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar condemns and acts as shocking video of elderly woman being thrashed by daughter-in-law surfaces, updates that 'accused has been arrest'

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has condemned an incident where an elderly woman was brutally thrashed by her daughter in law in state's Mahendragarh district.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has condemned an incident from the state's Niwaj Nagar Village of Mahendragarh district where an elderly woman was brutally thrashed by her daughter in law. Drawing flak, the entire incident was caught on camera and the video went viral.

"This is deplorable and condemnable, such behavior should not be tolerated in civilised society," CM Khattar tweeted along with the video of the incident. 

Amid the backlash over the video and users questioning the law and order in the state, CM Khattar apprised the public that a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.

Meanwhile, Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said the state should have a trauma centre every 60 km for timely and specialised treatment to road-accident victims.

Presiding over a meeting here, he directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to get mapping of trauma centres done in the State and earmark those locations where the distance between two such centres is more than 60 km.

The chief minister also directed the department to prepare a district-wise list of number of X-ray machines, MRI machines and other major equipment available in the government hospitals in the State so the equipment can be made available in those facilities taking those machines.
