The Delhi High Court Wednesday provided police protection to a runaway couple, who got married against the wishes of their families and feared for their lives.

Delhi High Court Wednesday provided police protection to a runaway couple, who got married against wishes of ir families and feared for ir lives.

woman, who filed petition, told high court that she got married to man on March 12 this year in Delhi and both are residents of Haryana and ir family members are searching m and y apprehend that y will be harmed.

Justice Yogesh Khanna, who conducted hearing through video conferencing, asked woman to give necessary details of her residence and that of ir parents to police.

prosecutor told court that woman and her husband are t permanent residents of Delhi as she has come here at house of her spouse's relative.

prosecutor also said couple has t provided details of ir respective parents to police officials.

court said if couple is residing in Delhi, y shall give ir dress details to police official who is directed to provide police assistance to m whenever required.

“Furr in case petitioner (woman) and her husband are residing in jurisdiction of some or police station, …. (police official) shall inform concerned SHO about this order so that mobile number of police officials of concerned police be given to petitioner and her husband, so that y both can contact and seek assistance as and when required,” court said.
