HCL Technologies Employee Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Maharashtra's Nagpur, Company Responds
Nitin Edwin Michael, a senior HCLTech analyst, died from cardiac arrest at the Nagpur office. HCLTech expressed sorrow and assured support for his family.
Nagpur: A senior analyst at HCL Technologies Ltd., Nitin Edwin Michael, 40, passed away following a cardiac arrest at the company’s Nagpur office. Michael was found unresponsive in the office washroom around 7 PM on Friday evening. Colleagues immediately administered emergency care at the on-site clinic before taking him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Local police have registered a case of accidental death and are currently investigating the incident. Preliminary autopsy reports suggest that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Michael is survived by his wife and their six-year-old son.
HCL Technologies Responds
HCL Technologies expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event, emphasizing that immediate care was provided. In an official statement, the company said, “This is an unfortunate incident and a tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased employee and are providing all possible assistance to them. In this incident, the employee was provided emergency support at the campus healthcare clinic and rushed to the hospital.”
The spokesperson also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to employee wellbeing, stating, “The wellbeing of our people is of utmost priority and HCLTech provides healthcare programs for all its employees and their families, including on-campus clinics and annual preventive health checks.”
Police investigations are ongoing.
