Taking to social media, ISRO anunced that it will give an opportunity to people who want to watch Chandrayaan 2 landing. Earlier on August 12, ISRO Chairman Dr K Sivan said that Chandrayaan-2 is expected to reach moon's orbit on August 20 and land on lunar surface on September 7. Sivan was in Ahmedabad to take part in birth centenary celebrations of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, regarded as far of India's program. 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2, a three-module craft comprising orbiter, lander and rover had been launched and inserted into orbit on July 22. It is currently on its way to Moon after having completed all its orbit raising maeuvres.

Sivan said craft was "doing very well" at present and all its systems were functioning properly. He said scientists at ISRO will be busy in coming months, particularly in December when ncy would take up a mission to launch small satellites.
