High Court directs Delhi Police to provide security to JNU VC and other officials
HC directed Delhi Police to provide high security to the VC, registrar & other officials of JNU as proper functioning of the University resumes from Thursday.

Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed Delhi Police to provide high security to Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and or officials of Jawaharlal Nehru University, to ensure proper functioning of University, which resumes from Thursday. High Court granted University's ministration time till evening of December 11, to speak with protesting students HC also ordered ministration to get area within 100m from ministrative block cleared so that Registrar and or officials could resume work.
Earlier, JNU International Students' Association h written a letter to Course Professors at JNU requesting m to "find alternative measures of acemic evaluation at earliest for international scholars." Delhi Police on Monday lathi-charged after a clash with protesting JNU students, who were marching towards Rashtrapati Bhawan. students were marching from JNU campus to Rashtrapati Bhawan seeking to meet President over fee hike issue.

A four-member committee of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) met a delegation of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on vember 29, following which, union president h said that strike will continue until ir demands are met. Several cases have also been registered against students over vandalism, etc, since y started ir strike over five weeks ago against hostel fee hike. students have been on a protest since JNU ministration introduced new hostel manual, including fee hike.

Meeting with HRD ministry
In a bid to break logjam in Jawaharlal Nehru University over hostel fee hike issue, HRD Ministry functionaries held a lengthy parley with students and varsity ministration on Tuesday but could t reach an agreement, officials said. meeting will continue on Wednesday, officials said and expressed hope that matter will be resolved.

JNU vice-chancellor M Jagesh Kumar, Registrar Pramod Kumar, and students' union representatives attended meeting at HRD Ministry. " meeting was held with both parties. issue was discussed threbare but agreement could be reached. re will be a meeting again tomorrow and issue is likely to be finally put to rest," a senior Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry official said.
