inauguration of Kartarpur corridor is a "very historic" event and it would t do justice to it to highlight "one individual", Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday on Punjab MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu's repeated request for clearance to travel to Pakistan for ceremony.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar's remarks came in response to a number of questions seeking clarity on Sidhu writing letters to ministry for permission to visit Pakistan.

former Punjab minister on Thursday wrote to ministry, asking it to make it clear if it h any inhibition on his attending opening ceremony of Kartarpur corridor in Pakistan.
Congress leer has said if he receives response to latest letter -- third one written by him -- he will go to shrine across border like "any or pilgrim".

Asked about clarity on issue, Kumar said inaugural event is a "very historic event" as India has been trying for last 20 years that this can fructify.
"I feel event on vember 9 is a very big event and it would t do justice to that event to highlight just one individual," he said.

"On issue of a particular person going or t, or specific travel plan of that person, I don't think, considering magnitude of occasion, it would be appropriate that we comment on wher a particular individual can go or t," Kumar said.

He said for deces, pilgrims h a dream that y could visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib without a visa and that dream was going to be realised.
"As far as an individual going is concerned, re is a process that everyone is aware of. process is that re is a website under Ministry of Home Affairs, some documents have to be submitted, registration would be on that basis, and y can go," he said.

"Even all details of inaugural 'jatha' have t been shared as this is a matter of faith. Highlighting individuals is t important," Kumar said.
He also ted that leer of Indian delegation is a religious leer --Giani Harpreet Singh.
corridor will facilitate a smooth movement of Indian pilgrims, who will have to obtain a permit, to Kartarpur Sahib located in Pakistan's Narowal district across Ravi river.
Sidhu h come under fire from opposition after he h hugged Pakistan Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa during swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Imran Khan in August last year.
Sidhu h n claimed that General Bajwa h told him about "efforts to open Kartarpur corridor".
On vember 4, he h received an invitation from Khan bearing serial number '0001' on an invitation card for inauguration of Kartarpur corridor.
