Hoax threat about bomb at mosque in Bengaluru; Cops nab accused after raids in 3 states

As per police, the accused who was collecting funds in the name of a madrasa outside, made the hoax call after he was denied permission to sleep in the mosque.

Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar police have arrested a man for making a hoax call that a bomb h been planted in a mosque. accused has been identified as Syed Qazi Mohamm Anwarullah Khan (37), a native of Maharashtra. It was revealed that Syed h come to Bengaluru on July 5 and went near mosque in area and started asking for funds for some mrasa from random people. This was time incident took place. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Zone), Bheemashankar Guled told Republic TV, " accused has been identified as Syed Qazi Mohammed Anwarullah Khan. He has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody. During interrogation, we got to kw that accused was collecting funds in name of a mrasa outside a mosque from devotees. He asked permission to sleep in mosque, but security denied him permission. So, enrd by this he me a hoax call. We got to kw about this person from Maharashtra and Andhra Presh police." It is being said that accused used to ask for funds near Azam Masjid behind Russell Market in Shivajinagar, for which he me hoax call.

Police conducted raids at multiple locations before nabbing accused from Telangana

Briefing about how accused was traced, DCP said, " accused h called control room on July 5 at around 9.45 PM claiming that a bomb was placed at a mosque in Shivajinagar. He did t give any or specifics or details about himself when asked by control room. A team of police officials conducted thorough inspection in all mosques of Shivajinagar with anti-sabot and bomb squs, but, y couldn't find anything. We tried calling him repeatedly and he started giving different statements. Shivajinagar police registered a suo-motu case in this regard after obtaining permission from court. Based on his call details, we alerted Chikkaballapur police and informed m that such a call h come from Kurol, but y weren't able to nab him. Furr, our teams of police launched a manhunt to nab him for next 2 days and eventually arrested him on July 8."

During interrogation, accused disclosed that enrd with denial to sleep inside mosque, he went to Majestic and boarded Kurol bus. As soon as bus crossed Chikkaballapur, he called police helpline from his mobile and told m that a bomb h been planted in mosque. As per police official, previous involvement of accused in any criminal activity was found during inquiry.

As per information, Shivajinagar police h conducted a raid in Andhra Presh and in Kurol, before nabbing accused from Mahabubnagar in Telangana. accused is said to have completed his BSc degree, but was unemployed. In order to meet his living requirements, he used to go around mosques and ask for money.
