Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, December 23, spoke about Modi government's aim to completely wipe out terrorism, left-wing extremism, and insurgency in rast, in next five years. While delivering 32nd Intelligence Bureau (IB) Centenary Endowment Lecture in Delhi, he called IB to be 'brain' of national security apparatus and also applauded its efforts in ensuring zero tolerance to terrorism and Naxalism.
As per an official press release, Home Minister pointed to interlinked challenges of human and weapons trafficking, cross-border infiltration, fake Indian currency tes (FICN), hawala transactions, drug trafficking as well as cyber threats.
He also asserted need for a special initiative to tackle se challenges, he stressed on need to co-opt professional experts in fields like cybersecurity.

According to official press release, Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Modi Government is committed that terrorism, Left-wing extremism, and insurgency in rast is completely wiped out in next five years."

Adding furr he emphasized on need for coordination between different security and intelligence ncies. Shah also praised IB for "ably-tackling" challenges and threats to national security and made special te of work done by ncy in busting terror modules in last five years.

"Listing out national security challenges in coming years, especially against backdrop of country's aim to become a USD 5 trillion ecomy, he accorded special focus on securing "land and maritime borders," release said.

He also emphasized on importance of coordination between different security and intelligence ncies of India and encourd m to move towards sharper intelligence analysis along with a prompt phase-wise and time-bound strategy to address challenges to national security. Encouraging IB personnel to identify solutions to se challenges and look for new ways to counter m, he asked m to change ir approach to be more effective.
Talking about how IB personnel work tirelessly and anymously to ensure national security, he underscored ir contribution to helping country emerge stronger. He also appreciated organization for having tackled insurgency in rast "very effectively."
