Home Ministry Permits Prosecution of Lalu Prasad Yadav in Land for Job Scam

The ministry has approved to prosecution of Lalu on the final charge sheet of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the related case.

New Delhi: Union Home Ministry on Friday, September 20, permitted prosecution of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Pras Yav in money laundering case concerning land for job scam.

ministry has approved to prosecution of Lalu on final charge sheet of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in related case.

This development comes as Dlehi's Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday, September 18, issued summons to several members including Lalu Pras Yav and his sons Tejaswi Yav and Tej Pratap Yav.

This is first time when Tej Pratap Yav has been called in connection with this case. Delhi court said that Tej's involvement cant be ruled out, however, he was t initially charged-sheeted, but he was a director at AK Infosys Ltd and has w been summoned.

CBI's Special Judge Vishal Gogne issued a summon to Lalu Pras Yav , his two sons, and six or accused. As per reports, leers have been directed to appear on October 7. Furrmore, or charge-sheeted individuals have also been summoned.

court has included Akhileshwar Singh and his wife, Kiran Devi, in its summons.

Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary charge sheet on August 6, listing 11 accused. Four of se individuals have since died.

case pertains to Group-D appointments me in West Central Zone of railways based in Jabalpur, Mhya Presh , during Lalu Pras's tenure as railway minister from 2004 to 2009 in return for land parcels gifted or transferred by recruits in name of RJD supremo's family or associates, according to officials.

ncy registered case on May 18, 2022, against Pras and 15 ors, including his wife, two daughters, unidentified public servants and private persons.
