Hyderabad Metro: Safety certificate for JBS-MGBS route issued

The safety certificate for the 11 km stretch between Jubilee Bus Station and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station on corridor-II of the elevated Hyderabad Metro Rail project has been issued.

safety certificate for 11 km stretch between Jubilee Bus Station and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station on corridor-II of elevated Hyderab Metro Rail project has been issued, officials said on Sunday. government will decide date of inauguration of route soon, Hyderab Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director N V S Reddy said, an official release said. certificate was issued by Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) Janak Kumar Garg who inspected corridor along with Reddy, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderab) Limited Managing Director K V B Reddy and or senior officials over last three days.

New metro corridor has 9 stations

It has cleared way for introduction of passenger services on last corridor of Hyderab metro rail project phase-I, release said. corridor has nine stations, it ded. HMRL officials h earlier said that it would take 16 minutes to cover stretch between JBS to MGBS on metro as against 45 minutes by ro.

Progress in project

trial runs on route h commenced on November 25 last year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi h inaugurated 30 km stretch (between Miyapur and Nagole) out of 72 km long elevated Hyderab Metro Rail project, in November 2017. Subsequently in September 2018, anor 16-km stretch of Hyderab Metro between Ameerpet to L B Nagar was commissioned. In March 2019, a 10-km stretch of Hyderab Metro Rail between Ameerpet and Hi-Tec City was inaugurated. In November 2019, anor 1.5 km stretch of Metro Rail Corridor-III between Hitec City station and Raidurg was inaugurated.
