Hyderabad: As the capital city of Telangana experiences heavy rain, the IndiGo airline has issued a travel advisory for all its flight passengers; amid the rains, schools and colleges in Hyderabad will also remain closed on Monday and according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is on high alert.

IndiGo Issues Travel Advisory Amid Rain in Hyderabad

As Hyderabad braves heavy rains, the IndiGo Airline has issued a travel advisory for all its passengers, warning them of potential rescheduling of flights and traffic in the city due to waterlogging caused by rains.

The advisory reads, “With heavy rains ahead for Hyderabad this morning, flight schedules may be impacted, and roads could be waterlogged. Please keep a tab on your flight status https://bit.ly/3DNYJqj and allow extra time for your journey to the airport. Happy and safe travels!”

Hyderabad Rains: Schools-Colleges Closed

The Hyderabad rains have not only caused traffic disruptions in the city but have also affected the daily lives of the residents of the city. Due to the heavy rain, the schools and colleges in Hyderabad will remain closed on Monday, September 2.

All primary and secondary schools in the Hyderabad district, both private and government will remain closed on Monday.

Hyderabad Rains: IMD Weather Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for the Hyderabad district over the weekend; while a red alert has been issued for certain districts, an orange and yellow alert has been announced for other districts.

The IMD has warned the Hyderabad residents of potential traffic delays and the danger of electrocution due to waterlogging.

In a statement, the IMD said, “Necessary advisory may be issued by the Municipal Corporation for displaying the warnings and necessary action for clearing water. Advisory will be issued for road and rail and traffic departments for traffic regulation. Response force may be advised to take necessary action.”
