Hyderabad: Two techies are among four individuals who have been arrested in connection with the murder of their collegue, police said on Wednesday. The arrests were made from in Hyderabad's Ghatkesar area, news agency ANI reported.

According to sources, the victim, identified as Gajambikal Ajay Teja, was murdered on September 1 during a birthday party at a farmhouse. Sources revealed that he was pushed into the pool by two of the accused. Reports suggested that he was left unconscious for 45 minutes before he was rushed to the hospital by his friends. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon his arival at Surya Hospital in Jedimetla. The incident was reported under Ghatkesar police station limits in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Subsequently, police registered a case against his colleagues Ranjith Reddy and Sai Kumar, Manager of the IT firm, Srikanth and Venkatesh, the farmhouse owner, ANI quoted Ghatkesar Police as saying.

"In Hyderabad's Ghatkesar, 4 individuals, including three IT professionals were arrested in connection with the murder of their colleague, Gajambikal Ajay Teja, during a birthday party at a farmhouse. Ajay Teja became unconscious and was left unattended for 45 minutes before his friends noticed him and rushed him to Surya Hospital in Jedimetla where the doctor declared him dead," Ghatkesar Police said.

"The incident occurred on September 1, when Teja was pushed into a pool by two of the accused. The incident happened under Ghatkesar police station limits in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. A case has been registered against his colleagues Ranjith Reddy and Sai Kumar, Manager of the IT firm, Srikanth and Venkatesh, the farmhouse owner," police added.

Further, the probe has revealed that the two prime accused, Ranjith Reddy and Sai Kumar, pushed the victim into the pool and initially tried to pass it off as an incident as an accidental drowning. However, discrepancies in their statements led the police to suspect foul play. 

Further investigation into the case is underway. More details are awaited.
