IAF Helicopter Rescues Four Critically Injured from Gorge in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: In a daring rescue mission, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Mi17 V5 helicopter evacuated four critically injured patients from the Puh-Sumdo Valley in Uttarakhand after their vehicle fell into a gorge today morning. The rescue operation was a joint effort, involving the Indian Army and the IAF.

Indian Army personnel retrieved the survivors from the crash site and transported them to the Karcham helipad.

From there, the patients were quickly airlifted by the IAF helicopter to Shimla, receiving in-flight medical care to stabilize their condition, according to an official statement by the Indian Air Force.

The quick coordination between the Indian Army and the IAF ensured a successful operation, potentially saving the lives of the victims.
