ICG Rescues Seven Fishermen From Pakistan Maritime Security Agency

The Indian Coast Guard ship rescued seven Indian fishermen who had been detained by a Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, official release said.

New Delhi: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship successfully rescued seven Indian fishermen who h been detained by a Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) vessel near India-Pakistan Maritime Boundary, an official release said on Monday.

Around 3:30 pm on November 17, an ICG patrol ship received a distress call from an Indian fishing boat (IFB) operating near No-Fishing Zone (NFZ), ICG release said.

" call reported that anor Indian fishing boat, Kal Bhairav, h been intercepted by a PMSA vessel, and seven Indian crew members h been apprehended. In response, ICG Ship immediately proceeded to reported location at maximum speed," it ded.

Despite PMSA ship's efforts to withdraw, ICG ship intercepted it and convinced PMSA to release Indian fishermen.

ICG ship successfully rescued seven fishermen, all of whom were found to be in stable medical condition.

Unfortunately, Indian fishing boat Kal Bhairav was reported to have been damaged and sunk during incident.

ICC Ship returned to Okha Harbour on November 18, where a joint investigation involving ICC, State Police, Intelligence Agencies, and Fisheries authorities was undertaken to investigate circumstances leing to collision and subsequent rescue operation.
