The Covid-19 lockdown was one of the hardest times for the people living in this world. It gave us many things and one of those things is the new style of cooking  in which people are mixing two dishes and creating one different one. These dishes have sparked a heated debate between the people who support it and oppose it. And in today’s episode we encountered a similar dish 'Idli Pattice' from Pune.

A video showcasing the preparation of 'Idli Pattice' has gone viral, showcasing a rather unusual amalgamation of two beloved Indian snacks—idli and batata vada. The process is deceptively simple: take two idlis and sandwich the spiced batata mixture typically used to make vada between them. The ensemble is then coated in besan (gram flour) and deep-fried to golden perfection, resulting in what can only be described as a unique culinary creation.

Check out the viral video:

While some may find the concept of 'Idli Pattice' intriguing, many social media users expressed their disbelief and even outrage at the fusion of these two classic dishes.  The video was shared with a caption that reads, "The divine combination of Idli and Wada Pav gives birth to Idli Pattice in Pune:)

#pune #punekar he sagla kai aahe???"

The video has garnered more than 7 lakh views.

User's reactions to the post:

One user said, “Batata-wada sambhar is a thing.

This may taste good, too As long as they are not adding ketchup, cheese or sev I'll try this one!”

Another one wrote, “Who comes up with these ideas? Are they trying to break culinary boundaries or just wreak havoc in the kitchen?”

“And with this… Pune races ahead of Gujarat in weird food list ! Well done Pune!!”

“Among the worst things to eat which you have shared for eternity this looks like the closest which I can give a TRY.”

“Someone will have a heart failure looking at this.”

Adding a humorous twist to the discourse, several X users jokingly speculated about the origin of the dish, suggesting that the chef behind 'Idli Pattice' must hail from Gujarat. This jest references the recent trend of bizarre food combinations emanating from the state, contributing to its reputation as a hub of culinary experimentation during the lockdown period.
