IED Blast by Naxals Injures 2 Jawans in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh : Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans sustained injuries in an IED blast executed by naxals in the Narayanpur district. The attack occurred as the jawans were returning from a search operation targeting naxal activities, said an official.

According to Inspector General of Bastar, P. Sundarraj, the jawans were part of a team conducting operations in the area when the blast occurred. The incident occurred near Mohandi village in Abujhmad when security personnel were returning after an anti-Naxal operation, the official added

Authorities have ramped up security operations in Narayanpur and surrounding areas to combat naxal insurgency. The injured jawans have been evacuated for medical treatment, and their conditions are being monitored.

In a major operation, Chhattisgarh 's Dantewada Police gunned down 38 naxal cadres during an encounter in the dense forest of Abujhmad, near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border, on Friday. 

According to a statement released by the Dantewada police, all 38 naxals killed were wanted individuals, collectively carrying a bounty of Rs 2.62 crore. The encounter took place in the villages of Nendur and Thulthuli, both situated near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. The security forces recovered the bodies of 31 cadres from the site, 29 of which have already been handed over to their families.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his satisfaction with the successful operation. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s firm resolve in tackling the naxal menace, vowing to continue the fight until peace is restored in the region.
