IISc Bangalore suspends all activities for 15 days amid Coronavirus scare in Karnataka

As per the Karnataka govt's instruction, IISc Bangalore suspended all academic extra-curricular activities for the next 15 days, in view of Coronavirus pandemic

Following instruction of Karnataka Government, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore on Saturday suspended all acemic and extra-curricular activities for next 15 days, in view of Coronavirus pandemic.

IISc Bangalore took to Twitter to spre information about suspension of lectures and or activities as a precautionary measure to contain spre of dely virus. institution also shared a tice issued by Karnataka Government, listing all precautions me effective in state, in view of COVID-19.

IISc has instructed al students and residents of campus to return to ir homes to avoid social garings. Furr, library, all eateries, gymkhana, and sports clubs will also remain closed during this period.  staff members have been vised to work from home and visit institute as per necessity.

decision comes a day after a 76-year-old man died of Coronavirus in Karnataka and number of positive cases in state rose to six.

Bus-stands, railway stations deserted; malls, cinemas closed

Bus-stands and railway stations in this IT city wore a deserted look on Saturday and malls, cinemas, pubs and night clubs remained shut as part of lockdown anunced by state government following country's first coronavirus fatality reported from Karnataka on March 12.

Six people in Karnataka have contracted virus including 76-year-old man who died due to this disease from Kalaburagi in state. A day after chief minister BS Yediyurappa anunced shutdown for a week, usual rush at Central bus-stand was missing. Karnataka State Ro Transport Corporation, which runs inter-city and inter-state buses, too has seen a decline in its revenue.
