India Meteorological Department (IMD) said isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Friday, October 18. wear forecast ncy furr predicted heavy downpour is also likely to batter south and central Maharashtra, Tamil Nu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
According to reports, IMD predicted a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning very likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Presh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, rth Haryana, and Chandigarh. squally wear with wind speed of 45-55 kilometres is very likely to be cast over East-central Arabian Sea and joining Karnataka and south Konkan coast. fishermen have been vised t to venture into se areas for next few days.

According to IMD, low-pressure area persists over souast Arabian Sea and joining Lakshweep area. associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. A trough runs from above cyclonic circulation to Telangana across Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and Rayalseema between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, stated IMD in its All India Wear Warning Bulletin. Under influence of above systems, heavy rainfall is likely to occur over major parts of peninsular India during next 3-4 days with likely occurrence of heavy to very heavy falls over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Southwest monsoon
Earlier on October 16, IMD said that Southwest monsoon has furr withdrawn from entire rth Bay of Bengal, some parts of central Bay of Bengal, entire Odisha, Chhattisgarh, some parts of Coastal Andhra Presh, some more parts of Telangana, entire Vidarbha, Marathawa, some parts of rth Interior Karnataka, most parts of Mhya Maharashtra, some more parts of Konkan, entire rth Arabian Sea and some parts of central Arabian Sea.

Conditions are becoming favourable for furr withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of central Bay of Bengal, some parts of south India, remaining parts of west India and more around central Arabian Sea during next 24 hours. In Delhi, sky will mainly be clear with minimum and maximum temperatures hovering around 21 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius. However, in Mumbai, sky will generally be cloudy with temperature fluctuating between 24 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius.
