IMD: Cyclone Kyarr to further intensify into a Super Cyclonic Storm

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin on Sunday, Cyclone Kyarr lays about 540 km west-southwest of Mumbai and 1500 km east of Salalah (Oman). It is very likely to furr intensify into a Super Cyclonic Storm during next few hours and likely to move west-rthwestwards towards Oman coast during next five days.
Fishermen vised t to venture into south Gujarat coast
With Cyclonic storm Kyarr hovering over Arabian Sea, parts of south Gujarat and Saurashtra are likely to receive light to moderate rains and thundershower over next four days, IMD said on Saturday. department said sea will become "rough to very rough" along and off south Gujarat coast during next 24 hours until Sunday afteron. IMD vised fishermen t to venture into south Gujarat coast for period due to prevailing sea condition.

19 fishermen rescued by ICG
As Indian Coast Guard (ICG) geared up to face Cyclone Kyarr, ICG in a press release on October 26 said that it h rescued around 19 stranded fishermen so far and escorted more than 2100 fishing boats to safety at various ports in West Coast. Coast Guard has alrey positioned 4 of its Dornier aircraft at Coast Guard Air and deployed 10 ships and 2 Chetak helicopters which to carry out necessary Search and Rescue Operations (SAR).

ICG gears up for Cyclone Kyarr
In a press release by Indian Coastal Guard, it stated that ICG has been issuing wear warnings since October 18 to all stakeholders and fishermen requesting m to refrain from proceeding to sea and recall one alrey at sea. It also stated that ICG Ships, aircraft, MRCCs and ROS brocasted messs to all seafarers in vernacular langus also to apprise m of cyclonic wear and vised m to return harbour whereas Fisheries authorities, Coastal Security Group, Marine Police and or stakeholders h been in close coordination with Coast Guard to help stranded fishing boats return to safety.
