IMD issues heavy rainfall warning over isolated places in Uttarakhand

The IMD has issued an extremely heavy rainfall warning in isolated places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and West Madhya Pradesh on Sunday

IMD- India Meteorological Department has issued an extremely heavy rainfall warning over isolated places in Uttarakhand, Uttar Presh, East Rajasthan, and West Mhya Presh on Sunday. Furr, wear forecasting ncy has also predicted heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman& Nicobar Islands, Assam, and Meghalaya throughout day.

IMD issues warning

According to meteorological department, thunderstorm accompanied by a wind speed of 50 to 60 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Furr, IMD has also predicted lightning at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. IMD stated in its All India Wear Warning Bulletin that, "Tamil Nu, Puducherry, Karikal, Coastal Andhra Presh, Yanam and Gujarat Region will also likely witness showers." According to wear ncy, strong winds are likely to prevail over  west-central and south-west Arabian Sea. wind speed is likely to reach around 40 to 50 kmph. Subsequently, squally wear conditions are likely to prevail over Andaman Sea. meteorological department has vised all fishermen to t venture into se areas. According to reports, Air Quality Index (AQI) of Uttarakhand is 68 which is considered to be 'moderate'. temperature is at 31 degree Celsius, while humidity lies around 71 per cent.

Uttarakhand floods 

Last month, around least 18 people went missing after a flood in Tons River washed away around 20 houses in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district, following a heavy rainfall. IMD h issued an extremely heavy rainfall warning during that time. With continuous rains, Uttarakhand has been experiencing landslides and floods this year. According to sources, overall death toll due to heavy rains has been over 60 in Uttarakhand. In ar incident last week, several vehicles were crushed under a landslide on  Govindghat on way to Hemkund Sahib in Gopeshwar in Chamoli district, stated reports.
