IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Northeast India, west Madhya Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the isolated places of Northeastern states on Sunday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall at the isolated places of the Northeastern states on Sunday. According to the meteorological department, parts of Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Along with this, the IMD has predicted that Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are also likely to witness heavy rainfall throughout the day on October 6. According to the IMD statement, "Above normal rainfall very likely over Karnataka, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Northeastern states. It is likely to be below normal to normal over remaining parts of the country during week 1." Earlier on October 4, the weather forecast agency had predicted heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Northeast India for the next three to four days. 

IMD Predicts rainfall over other states

According to the meteorological department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha. Incessant rains followed by floods in September have reportedly caused excessive damage in several parts of Madhya Pradesh. According to reports from local media, over 600 people lost their lives in the floods. Further reports stated that the state suffered a loss of Rs 11,906 crore during the floods.

IMD prediction over Delhi and Mumbai

The weather forecast agency has predicted cloudy sky with the minimum and maximum temperatures hovering around 21 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius in Delhi and its adjoining areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. Further, a cloudy sky has been predicted in Mumbai as well. However, the city is expected to receive moderate rainfall on Sunday. Further reports stated that the relative humidity in the area would be around 72 per cent with temperature oscillating between 24 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
