Gandhinagar: Indian Navy in a joint operation along with ATS Gujarat and NCB, reportedly seized around 3300 kg of narcotics worth crores from a boat, making it largest mid-water apprehension of narcotics in Indian subcontinent. vessel was intercepted by Indian security forces and enforcement agencies near International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) off coast of Gujarat in Arabian Sea.
Reports suggest that Indian agencies seized boat and held 5 Pakistani crew members onboard boat. This significant operation, conducted near IMBL in Arabian Sea, underscores relentless efforts of Indian authorities to combat illicit drug tre.

Matter is being investigated, says police official
Sources claimed that entire operation was carried out based on specific information. It is being said that an intelligence input was received regarding smuggling of narcotics through Indian waters near Gujarat.
Based on input, Indian Navy along with Narcotics Control Bureau and Anti-Terrorism Squ of Gujarat jointly executed operation and seized huge consignment of contraband mid-water in Arabian sea from boat, which is claimed to be an Iranian boat.

Not only this, 5 crew members who reportedly belong to Pakistan have also been apprehended.
As per official sources, Arabian Sea serves as a critical route for drug smugglers, which has resulted in a growing challenge for Indian security forces in curbing cross-border narcotics tre.

However, latest operation has set a big example in India's ongoing battle against drug trafficking and highlights importance of robust maritime security in curbing such illicit activities.
