Fighter jets, military chopper activity witnessed in Ladakh amid IAF chief's visit

Just a day after Major General-level talks were held between India and China, military chopper and fighter jet activity was seen in Ladakh's Leh on Friday

Following spike in tension between India and China at LAC, Indian troops have increased surveillance across border as a military chopper and fighter jet activity was seen in Lakh's Leh on Friday. Indian Air Force has also moved its frontline assets including Sukhoi-30MKI, Mir 2000 and Jaguar firefighter aircraft fleet to vanced positions where y can fly in at a very short tice to carry out operations. Amid escalated situation, IAF chief, RKS Bhauria visited Leh and Srinagar airbases to review preparedness of force on Friday. 

According to ANI, American Apache attack helicopters have been deployed in close vicinity to provide air support to Indian Army in eastern Lakh. Along with Apache, Chioks helicopters have also been deployed in and around Leh airbase to provide capability of rapid troops transportation and inter-valley troop transfer while Mi-17V5 medium-lift choppers are also playing an active role in area.

Army-level talks end

On Thursday, two countries' Major General-level talks were held more than six hours and sources said that talks were"Cordial and positive" with both sides agreeing for more talks. Moreover, Army has reaffirmed that all personnel who took part in Galwan valley operations on June 15-16 are accounted for and personnel is missing in action. talks h begun at 10:30 AM  at LAC.

As per sources, meeting location was at Patrol point 14, where clash took place on June 15-16. meeting was heed by Major General rank officer. Moreover, fresh build-up and reinforcements have been brought in by Chinese side. India has demanded a return to status quo in May, asking Chinese to remove ditional buildup done in area since n.

Galwan Faceoff 

As per Ministry of External Affairs, China 'unilaterally' tried to change status quo at LAC and violated previous agreements reached during talks at Moldo which led to a violent faceoff between Indian and Chinese troops at Galwan Valley in Lakh on June 15. 20 Indian Army soldiers including Commanding Officer were martyred when a violent faceoff. As per US intelligence reports, Chinese side has suffered 35 casualties including a Commanding officer, during physical clash.
