Independence day celebrated in Telangana amid COVID-19 pandemic

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday led 74th Independence day celebrations by hoisting national flag at his camp office-cum-official residence here, amid COVID-19 crisis.
Rao also paid floral tributes at 'Amara Veerula Sthupam' (martyrs memorial) at pare ground in city, an official release said.

At High Court here, Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan unfurled tricolour to mark occasion.

In his dress, Chauhan said last five months have been trying times due to COVID-19 pandemic and Telangana High Court is only HC, where all nine benches functioned through video conferencing during period.
"I am proud to say that while Indian judiciary tried to just to new rmal, it was high court of Telangana which was in forefront.

Thanks to cooperation of my learned brors and sisters, to cooperation of all lawyers, to cooperation of members of registry and staff, that Telangana high court was first and only high court that ran all its nine benches through video conferencing for last 5 months," he said.
"I am indebted to all of you for your untiring support during se critical months," he ded.

I-Day celebrations were also held at government offices and hequarters of political parties including TRS, AIMIM, opposition Congress, BJP and Telugu Desam by hoisting national flag.
State Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and his BJP counterpart Bandi Sanjay Kumar led celebrations in ir party offices.
