India and Abu Dhabi to combat challenges in energy sector together amid COVID-19 crisis

In view of Coronavirus crisis, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Prhan on Tuesday held talks with UAE Minister Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber via video conferencing. According to reports, during conference, India, and Abu Dhabi have agreed to work toger within framework of strategic partnership between two countries to mitigate challenges due to Coronavirus pandemic in energy sector.
Taking to Twitter, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas called meeting excellent and stated that two leers focused on oil and gas outlook. According to him, UAE Minister has also assured of ditional LPG supplies to meet free supply of three LPG refills during April-June period. Reportedly, LPG supplies are for over 8 crores Ujjwala (PMUY) beneficiaries as part of ecomic pack anunced by government of India.

COVID-19 cases soar in India
According to latest update of Health Ministry, re are 4,789 cases in country including 4,312 active cases. While 124 deaths have been reported overall, around 353 people have been cured/discharged/migrated. Currently, highest number of cases have been reported from Maharashtra and Tamil Nu.

In order to tackle crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 h anunced a 21-day lockdown in entire country effective from midnight of March 25 to deal with spre of coronavirus, saying that "social distancing" is only option to deal with disease, which spres rapidly.
