India, Bangladesh call for expediting safe and sustainable repartition of Rohingya refugees
Foreign Ministers of India and Bangladesh held talks on Friday to further intensify ties between the two countries as they called for expediting safe and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingya refugees, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.

During fifth meeting of India-Banglesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC), External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured her Bangleshi counterpart A K Abdul Momen India's continued support for safe, speedy and sustainable return of displaced persons to Myanmar.

two sides also inked three pacts, including in areas of health services and training of civil servants.
ministers discussed gamut of bilateral issues of mutual interest and reviewed ongoing cooperation, including implementation of decisions taken during visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, statement said.

y also expressed satisfaction that both countries are working closer than ever before in every sector, ranging from security and border manment to mutually-beneficial tre and investment flows, power and energy, river water sharing, development partnership, transport connectivity, culture, and people-to-people contacts.

y also welcomed broening of ties in areas such as , nuclear energy, IT and electronics.
"Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen conveyed gratitude of Government of Banglesh for humanitarian assistance provided by India in four tranches since September 2017 to help meet requirements of displaced persons from Myanmar. two ministers agreed on need to expedite safe and sustainable repatriation of displaced people from Rakhine State of Myanmar," statement said.

India has been calling on Myanmar to implement accord it signed with Banglesh -- Rohingya repatriation agreement -- that involves return of refugees to Myanmar.
India has been sending assistance to Banglesh, which has been hosting over seven million Rohingya refugees from neighbouring Myanmar. It started 'Operation Insaniyat' to help Rohingya refugees in September2017. In December 2018, India sent 4th tranche of relief assistance to Rohingya refugees camping in Banglesh's Cox's Bazar as part of operation.

three MoUs signed were on mid-career training of 1,800 Bangleshi civil servants, ar between AYUSH Ministry and Ministry of Health of Banglesh on cooperation in field of medicinal plants and third between Anti-Corruption Commission of Banglesh and Central Bureau of Investigation of India.
A MoU was also signed between Hiranandani Group and Banglesh Ecomic Zones Authority to facilitate investments in Indian Ecomic Zone in Mongla.
