India briefs UNHRC chief about Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in J&K

A high-level Indian delegation led by MEA Secretary (East) Vijay Thakur Singh on Thursday met UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet in Geneva and briefed her about steps taken by Indian government to bring rmalcy in Jammu and Kashmir in aftermath of abrogation of Article 370. She also apprised UN High Commissioner about Pakistan's continued efforts to destabilise situation in J&K through terrorism. Rajiv Kumar Chander, India's ambassor and permanent representative to UN, was also a part of delegation that met Bachelet. delegation meeting took place on sidelines of ongoing 42nd UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva.

Speaking to news ncy ANI about her meeting UNHR High Commissioner, MEA Secretary (East) Vijay Thakur Singh said that she briefed Michelle Bachelet about situation in J&K, ding that India will continue to eng with her. Vijay Thakur Singh furr stated she briefed Bachelet about continuous efforts of Pakistan to disturb peace in region through terrorism.
"We discussed situation in Kashmir. It's fast returning to rmal. She (Bachelet) appreciated that. We will continue to eng with her. We briefed her about Pakistan's support to terrorism and continued efforts to destroy situation re through terrorism," MEA Secretary (East) said.

India takes down Pakistan at UNHRC
On Tuesday, India firmly rejected Pakistan's allegations on developments in J&K, calling out neighbouring country over ir "fabricated narrative". Terming Pakistan " epicenter of global terrorism", Vijay Thakur Singh stated that it uses 'terrorism as alternative diplomacy'. Furrmore, Vimarsh Aryan, First Secretary at Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), comprehensively rebutted Pakistan on Kashmir issue at UNHRC, Geneva. Speaking at UNHRC on India's behalf, Vimarsh Aryan took down Pakistan over its interference in India's internal affairs with regards to J&K. He also maintained India's stand that abrogation of Article 370 is for benefit and development of citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
