Ministry of External Affairs of India, Department of Foreign Affairs and Tre of Australia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and US Department of State held a video conference on Friday, September 25 wherein officials discussed best practices to combat COVID-19 pandemic. In dition, senior officials also renewed ir commitment to a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

As per reports, a statement released by External Affairs Ministry ted, “In context of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, officials underscored importance of enhancing resilience of supply chains and sharing best practices on how to combat pandemic. officials reaffirmed ir commitment towards a free, open, prosperous and inclusive Indo-Pacific region based on shared values and principles and respect for international law”.
In dition, statement also ded that India along with US, Japan and Australia supported ASEAN-Centrality and ASEAN-led mechanisms in Indo-Pacific region, particularly East Asia Summit. statement also ded that present countries appreciated Vietnam’s chairmanship of ASEAN and looked forward to East Asia Summit scheduled for vember this year.

India and ASEAN on September 12 conducted a review of strategic partnerships in a range of areas and opted a new five-year plan of action to strengn ties. In dition, India and ASEAN also discussed vital regional and international developments including ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
