India, European Union hold 6th round of disarmament and non-proliferation dialogues

India and the European Union (EU) on Monday, November 23 held the sixth round of discussions on disarmament and non-proliferation issues.

India and European Union (EU) on Monday, vember 23 held sixth round of discussions on disarmament and n-proliferation issues. During consultation, India and EU exchanged developments in area of nuclear, chemical, biological disarmament and n-proliferation among ors, official statement issued by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

" consultations involved exchanges on developments in area of nuclear, chemical, biological disarmament and n-proliferation, conventional weapons, outer security issues, export control regimes, strategic stability environment and or developments of mutual interest," MEA said.

Towards improving mutual understanding 

Ministry furr said that discussions aimed at improving mutual understanding and appreciation between India and EU on international security issues. se are part of bro dialogue architecture with EU as a key strategic partner of India, ministry ded.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will begin on a six-day tour of Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Seychelles beginning Tuesday, vember 24. His foreign visit is seen as important as it comes in midst of coronavirus pandemic. MEA informed Jaishankar's first destination will be Bahrain from where he will travel to United Arab Emirates. He will travel to Seychelles in third and final leg of his visit.

During his two-day visit to Bahrain from vember 24 to 25, union minister will personally convey condolences to Bahraini leership on s demise of Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on vember 11, MEA said. He will also hold talks on bilateral issues as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest with Bahraini leers.
