India, Finland discuss collaboration in emerging technologies for clean energy production
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Finland Ambassador Ritva Koukku-Ronde explored opportunities in emerging technologies in clean energy production.

Union Minister Dharmendra Prhan held a meeting with Finland Ambassor Ritva Koukku-Ronde on September 30 to explore opportunities in emerging techlogies in clean and efficient energy production. In a series of tweets, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas said that duo reviewed progress of completion of a 2G Ethal plant in Numaligarh using bamboo as feedstock.
According to ministry, 2G Ethonal plant is first of its kind in world, built under JV between NRL and Finnish companies Chemopolis and Fortum. Prhan reportedly highlighted vast investment opportunities in India's expanding clean energy market and encourd Finnish companies to invest in development of clean fuels, including under waste-to-energy model.

Prhan held ar meeting with Australian Ambassor to India Barry O'Farrell to discuss several aspects of cooperation in energy sector. ministry said that discussed participation of Australian companies to actively partner and invest in India’s gas infrastructure and in developing hydrocarbon value chain in India.

EU-India cooperation
meeting was held days after European Union and Indian government stepped up cooperation on research and invation on green projects under EU’s ‘Horizon 2020’ programme. 27-member bloc and India’s Department of Biotechlogy (DBT) have identified five areas for collaboration between researchers and invators of India and Europe.

DBT will co-fund projects in several areas including clean, affordable and secure energy; industry for a clean and circular ecomy; and biodiversity and ecosystem services. EU delegation stated that five calls are part of last and largest call launched by European Union under its research and invation programme with a €1 billion budget.
“se research projects will work towards a green, resilient and sustainable tomorrow. This EU-India collaboration also highlights our strong commitment to support Paris Agreement as well as UN's Sustainable Development Goals,” Ugo Astuto, Ambassor of European Union to India, h said in a statement.
