India has developed proactive defence policy: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the country has zero-tolerance towards terrorism and has developed a "proactive" defence policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kolkata - Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said country has zero-tolerance towards terrorism and has developed a "proactive" defence policy under leership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah also said that India has w joined league of countries like US and Israel in carrying out surgical strikes.

"w, after Modiji became PM, we have developed a proactive defence policy segregated from foreign policy," he said in Rajarhat while inaugurating a new building of National Security Guards (NSG).

home minister said central government is working on a policy to improve "housing satisfaction ratio" to enable jawans to stay with ir families for at least 100 days in a year.

Hailing NSG jawans for fighting terror, Shah said, "We have taken measures to make it best force in world".

Union minister arrived here earlier in day amid protests by opposition parties against contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

Demonstrations are also being held in various parts of city, including areas in vicinity of Shaheed Minar Ground, where Shah is scheduled to dress a rally.
