The News Broadcasters Federation (NBF), on Thursday, condemned the I.N.D.I.A bloc's decision to boycott 14 news anchors.

The NBF vociferously condemns the undemocratic, Emergency-era directive to boycott 14 select news anchors as part of an undemocratic institutionalised political decision to crush free speech and target the Indian media in a pre-election year.
The blanket decision to ban representation of I.N.D.I.A political alliance’s members on the on-air shows of 14 specific news anchors across broadcast networks in the country is an unprecedented attempt to muzzle the voice of the Indian media through intimidation and singling-out tactics.

The I.N.D.I.A. political alliance’s order is clearly an attempt to censor the media in this great country, which prides on its wealthy history of free speech, thought and expression.

The statement that has been ascribed to the “I.N.D.I.A Media Committee” has unilaterally sounded the ushering of an Emergency-like mind-set once again. To make an institutional political decision against handpicked journalists of established stature is a clear and outright onslaught against free speech through systemic targeting of the media.

It is a blot on India’s democratic principles and a grave assault on Article 19 of the Indian Constitution for the pre-election political alliance I.N.D.I.A to be out rightly tinkering with the country’s rich history of being a free and vibrant press.

The NBF wholly condemns this clear instance of political parties and alliances make targeting of journalists across news networks a pre-election agenda. We strongly urge the “I.N.D.I.A Media Committee” to revoke its draconian order with immediacy.

A total of eight passengers were injured after the VSR Ventures Learjet 45 aircraft VT-DBL operating flight from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai was involved in runway excursion while landing on runway 27 at Mumbai airport, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. 

Ghaziabad- Roadways bus fell from Delhi-Meerut Expressway, 18 to 20 passengers in the bus were seriously injured, all the injured were admitted to different hospitals. Ghaziabad Near Hawa Hawai Restaurant. This accident happened in the afternoon, 8 kilometers ahead of Bhojpuri, the bus broke the railing and fell into the ditch near Dasna.

There were 6 passengers and 2 crew members on board. Visibility was 700m with heavy rain. No casualties reported as of now: DGCA

The operation in Kokernag is in advance stage. A group of terrorists, in all likelihood, consisting of three terrorists attacked team of Army and JKP Officers. Terrorists are continually changing their location; multiple natural caves are being used as hideout by terrorists. 

Prime Minister while addressing a public rally in Chattisgarh on Thursday hit out at the Chattisgarh governemnt, says 'People suffereing a lot because of the misgovernemnt in the state."

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says, "In Bengal not giving respect to the constitutional bodies has become a policy of the State government...The state government here has the mindset of confrontation...If you will not go by the constitutional arrangements then is the Governor responsible for this?... In Bengal, the state government follows many undemocratic practices due to which confrontation happens..."

While addressing public in Rajasthan's Bhilwara Union Minister Anurag Thakur said,  "Congress is ashamed of Sanatana Dharma, they want to end Sanatana Dharma, they want to insult Hindus and they want to crush the Constitution...everyday Congress and leaders of their supporting parties say that they will end Sanatana Dharma...they have now also started boycotting journalists and have started filing complaints. Whether it is in Chennai or Bengal, they are filing complaints out of fear."

While addressing a public meeting, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan says,"...I and the BJP government have served you...The Congress candidates come during elections only and disappear later...You should support those who work for you..."

On National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah's statement on the Rajouri encounter, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar says, "...Farooq Abdullah and his family have ruled, misruled and misgoverned Jammu and Kashmir for many many years. Their politics have primarily been responsible for decades of deprivation and J&K people's suffering from lack of rights, economic opportunities and the scourge of terrorism. So I think that he is the least appropriate person to comment on what is right and wrong for the people of J&K..."

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat says, "...Under the leadership of the PM, we passed a law in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in 2021 to standardise the Dam security and make an organised structure. Since this law was passed all the states have made the preparations according to the Dam Safety Act...More than 750 dams under the rehabilitation and improvement project are being improved with the expenditure of Rs 10,000 crores..."

In Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch, locals have taken out a march to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in the Anantnag encounter.

In a solemn ceremony held today, the Kishtwar Police Force came together to pay a heartfelt tribute to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DY.SP) Humayun Bhat, who lost his life during an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag yesterday.

A boat carrying school children capsized in the Bagmati River in the Beniabad area of Bihar's Muzaffarpur. "DM Muzaffarpur is investigating the incident. The families of those affected in this accident will be provided assistance by the government," says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

On the special session of Parliament, Congress Rajya Sabha MP K C Venugopal says, "...I don't know what is on the agenda for the special session... This government's parliamentary agenda is not at all transparent...This has not happened in the history of parliamentary democracy in India... They will not give an agenda, and after hue and cry, they will put an agenda..."

"On one side, the 'New Bharat' is showing its capability to unite the world, but on the other side, there are some parties who are trying to create a divide in the country. They have formed the 'INDI Alliance', which is also called 'ghamandiya alliance' by some people. They don't have a leader but it seems that they have decided their agenda in the recent Mumbai meeting. They have decided their hidden agenda and that is to attack India's culture," said PM Modi. 

"They have decided to attack on the faith of Indians. They are intended to ruin the thoughts, values and traditions, which have kept the country united for thousands of years. This 'ghamandiya alliance' has resolved to finish Sanatan," he added.

Today we had an encounter in Rajouri, there are encounters daily. The government shouts daily that militancy is over. Now tell me, is militancy over? This will not be over until a path is not found through which peace can be achieved. Peace cannot be achieved through a fight, it can come through talks."

Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil on Thursday withdrew his indefinite hunger strike in the presence of CM Eknath Shinde. Patil kickstarted the strike on August 29 over the demand for reservations of the Maratha community. 

Chief Justice of India announced that the Supreme Court of India to come under the National Judicial Data Grid platform which provides tracking of pendency of cases. CJI says it will bring transparency and accountability. “It is a historic day. It is a unique platform which is developed by the NIC and in house team of the Supreme Court. Now, at the click of a button, you can see real-time information on the pendency of cases, year-wise, total pendency of registered and unregistered cases, number of cases decided qoram-wise,” CJI DY Chandrachud says.

Indian Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday resumed the operation against the terrorists in the Kokernag area of the Anantnag district. An Indian Army Colonel commanding a Rashtriya Rifles Unit along with a Major and a Deputy Superintendent of Police was killed in a gunfight with terrorists in the Kokernag area of Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday. The killed officers have been identified as Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonak & DSP Humayun Bhat.

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party raised anti-Pakistan slogans to protest against the deaths of three security force officials in the Anantnag encounter earlier today.

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane, said,"...We have the information that yesterday in the meeting of the INDIA alliance in Delhi, the DMK leaders were praised for making statements on 'Sanatana Dharma'... They (INDIA) support DMK's statement on 'Sanatan Dharma'. Has the INDIA alliance been formed to finish the Hindu religion?..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on Thursday to launch a slew of projects in the two states. His office said in a statement that he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 50,700 crore in Madhya Pradesh from an event in Bina in the state. Later, he will travel to neighbouring Chhattisgarh to dedicate important rail sector projects worth around Rs 6,350 cr.
