India to approach FATF over Canada’s inaction against terror funding operations, say sources

India is planning to approach the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) over Ottawa’s inaction against terror funding operations on its soil.

Amidst conflict with Cana, India is planning to approach Financial Action Task Force (FATF) over Ottawa’s inaction against terror funding operations on its soil despite New Delhi having shared credible evidence over same. India is also set to share a dossier of old and new evidence with Paris-based watchdog, which looks after implementation of legal, regulatory, and operational measures to combat money laundering and terror financing.

As per a source, "Cana acquiescing to India’s demand to reduce its diplomatic strength by 41 is not enough as India’s key concern is about funding and shielding of Khalistanis on Canian soil.”

It ded, "Diplomats, security and probe agency officials have been asked to collect relevant evidence to be shared with FATF.”

In a recent statement, Arindam Bagchi said, " core issue in India’s relationship with Cana is safe space that terrorists and criminal elements have secured in that country.”

Cana trying to divert attention of global community: Sources

As per official sources, Canian government is trying to divert attention of global community from core issue of terror activities by accusing India of escalation and violating Vienna Convention regarding Canian diplomatic presence. After India immediately rejected Cana’s allegations, it decided to ensure that core issue of terror funding on Canian soil was not relegated.
