• ED Attack Case: Shahjahan Sheikh Sent to Judicial Remand Until April 9

A court in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district remanded suspended Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh in connection with a case on the mob attack on ED officials at Sandeshkhali in January. Sheikh has been in CBI custody since March 6. The Calcutta High Court transferred the investigation to the central agency from the state police. When the CBI produced him before the court of the First Additional Judicial Magistrate in Basirhat, the judge remanded Sheikh and two others to judicial custody till April 9.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested four Rohingyas, including three women. All of them are native of Myanmar, who had entered India illegally, police said on Thursday. The four were identified as Amir Hamza, 21, Meena Jahan, 19, Sakura Begaum, 22, and Onara Begum, 19. "The Rohingyas were travelling in a train headed to New Delhi from Assam. They were intercepted when the train entered Uttar Pradesh on Mar 27 and taken to ATS headquarters in Lucknow. They were put under arrest at the headquarters," the ATS said in a statement.

• 11 injured in Poonch accident 

At least 11 people, including two children, were injured in an accident on Poonch, as a Matador carrying passengers rolled down into a deep gorge. The accident took place in the Mangnar area of Poonch. All injured have been shifted to a government hospital in Poonch.

A jawan of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) allegedly shot himself while on duty at the Kolkata airport on Thursday morning and later succumbed to injuries in hospital, officials said. He was posted outside gate number 5 at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here, an Airports Authority of India spokesperson said. The 25-year-old jawan, identified as C Vishnu, allegedly shot himself with his service gun around 5.15 am, he said.

• Delhi's Max Temp Likely to Settle Around 37 Degrees Celsius

Delhi on Thursday recorded a minimum temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Humidity was recorded at 64 per cent at 8.30 am. The department has predicted generally cloudy sky with possibility of drizzle during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 37 degrees Celsius, it said.
