MNS Chief Raj Thackeray Reaches Delhi Amid Speculations of Pre-Poll Alliance With BJP

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) President will have a seat-sharing agreement at Thailavaram Garden in Ramadoss House today. Followed by the seat-sharing agreement, PMK leaders will attend PM Modi's public meeting in Salem.

With speculation rife of his party forging a pre-poll alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray late Monday reached Delhi, where he is expected to meet with the BJP top brass. 

 Former Delhi health minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain returned to Tihar Jail on Monday, hours after the Supreme Court dismissed his regular bail plea in a money laundering case, officials said.

"Jain arrived at Tihar jail in the evening. He was taken to jail number 7 after the formalities of lodging him in the prison were completed," a jail official said.

The 69-year-old was medically examined before being sent to a separate cell in the prison, officials said.

He added, "For the same power, Narendra Modi ji waives off loans worth thousands of crores from Indian banks, while an Indian farmer commits suicide when he is unable to repay a loan of a few thousand rupees."

"The same power is given India's ports, India's airports, while India's youth is given the gift of Agniveer, which breaks his courage," he further said.

"While saluting the same power day and night, the country's media suppresses the truth," he added.

He added, “Narendra Modi ji, a slave of the same power, imposes GST on the poor of the country, without controlling inflation, he auctions the country's property to increase that power.” 

“I recognize that power, Narendra Modi ji also recognizes that power. He is not a religious power of any kind, He is the power of unrighteousness, corruption and falsehood,” he further added. 

“That's why whenever I raise my voice against him, Modi ji and his machine of lies get upset and enraged,” he stated in his tweet.

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay the order of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker disqualifying six Congress rebels, who had cross-voted in the recent Rajya Sabha polls in the state. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta issued notice to the office of HP Assembly speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and sought its response to the plea in four weeks. The bench said that pending adjudication of their plea, rebel HP Congress MLAs will not be allowed to vote or participate in the proceedings of the Assembly.

As many as nine people sustained injuries after a mini-bus they were travelling in overturned as the driver dozed off at the wheel on a highway in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district in the early hours of Monday, police said.

The accident occurred on a national highway in the Panagar area around 5.30 to 6 am when the mini-bus with 20 people on board was heading towards Ahmednagar in neighbouring Maharashtra, an official told PTI.

The victims were returning to Ahmednagar from Varanasi when the accident occurred near an eatery on the highway, about 20 km from the district headquarters, the official added. 

A speeding car allegedly ploughed into a group of people on the Yamuna Expressway (YXP) in Greater Noida, leaving one man dead and two others injured, police said on Monday. The driver of the car -- who was taken into custody by police -- had allegedly fallen asleep at the wheel resulting in the accident, they said. "Three men were waiting along the YXP on Sunday evening when the incident took place in the Jewar area. A Maruti Swift car registered in Delhi hit the trio who was admitted to a nearby private hospital where one succumbed to injuries and others are undergoing treatment," a local police official said.

African cheetah 'Gamini' has given birth to six cubs at the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district, and not five as reported previously, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said on Monday. On March 10, Yadav shared the information that the five-year-old South African cheetah gave birth to five cubs at the Kuno National Park (KNP). In a post on his official X account on Monday morning, Yadav said, "Gamini's legacy leaps forward! There is no end to joy: It is not five, but six cubs! A week after the news of five cubs born to Gamini, it is now confirmed that Gamini, the South African cheetah mother, has given birth to six cubs, a record of sorts for a first-time mother." The minister also shared the visuals of cheetah Gamini's six cubs.

The Gujarat High Court has refused to take suo motu cognizance of the incident wherein two foreign students, were allegedly attacked by a mob on Gujarat University campus. Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal says High Court Judges cannot be made Inspectors. "Please don't make us inspectors or investigating officers. There is Police force to look into the issue. They will probe," Chief Justice Agarwal said.

The National Highway 5 was blocked near Shamlech village in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district following a landslide on Monday morning, officials said.No casualty was reported in the incident that occurred at around 7.30 am on the Shimla-Kalka Road near Solan bypass, bringing traffic to a halt, they said. Vehicles were seen stranded on both sides of the road as the local police asked the motorists to turn back and take the old Barog route.

“We will say SBI shall disclose the bond numbers and also that you should file an affidavit stating that you have not suppressed any information", said the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court began hearing in Electoral Bonds case on Monday. The SC said in the judgment, it had asked the SBI to disclose all details and that includes the Electoral Bond numbers as well. SBI should not be selective in disclosing the details, said the apex court. It said it wants all information related to the Electoral Bonds to be disclosed which is in SBI possession.

 

The Supreme Court has denied bail to former Delhi Minister and AAP Leader Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case.

More than three kg of heroin was seized near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Tarn Taran district, a BSF spokesperson said on Monday. The Border Security Force (BSF) troops found a black-coloured bag from the border area of Tarn Taran at 12:05 am on Monday, said the spokesperson. They found six packets of heroin weighing 3.306 kg in the bag, said the spokesperson.

The bail application of Elvish Yadav can be filed in Surajpur Court today. Yadav is lodged in luxor jail since yesterday. Yesterday he was sent to jail for using snake and its poison in rave parties. According to the Noida police sources, Elvish has admitted that he used to order snakes and snake venom for the party.

Rampur's MP/MLA court will pronounce sentence on four people including Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan today. The matter is about forced demolition of houses in Dungarpur. The allegation was that during the tenure of SP, on the instructions of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, party workers had forcibly vacated their houses to build shelter houses. The houses already built there were demolished by using bulldozers. There were allegations of breaking into the house, assault, abusing, robbery and criminal conspiracy. Apart from this, Azam khan was made accused of criminal conspiracy. A case was registered in this case in 2019.
 

A 69-year-old football coach was killed after a dumper knocked him down in Navi Mumbai township of Maharashtra, police said. The accident took place in Vashi area at around 10.30 am on Saturday when Stanley Nair, who was also a former state-level football player, was out on a scooter to make some purchases, an official from Vashi police station said. A dumper hit Nair's vehicle. He was injured and rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the official said.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday issued summons to Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal in a money-laundering case linked to irregularities in Delhi Jal Board (DJB). Kejriwal has been asked to appear before the probe agency on Monday. ED issued summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal under section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in the Delhi Jal Board case. ED is probing illegal tendering in Delhi Jal Board and laundering of alleged proceeds of crime.
