India to China on J&K reference at UNGA: 'Respect India's Sovereignty'
Taking strong exception to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's reference to J&K, and Ladakh, India asserted that the region was an integral part of the country.

India, on Saturday, took strong exception to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's reference to Jammu and Kashmir, and Lakh in his dress at UN General Assembly, asserting that region is an integral part of country and all nations should respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Raising Kashmir issue, Wang told UN General Assembly that "dispute" should be peacefully and properly dressed in accordance with UN Charter, UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement. Chinese foreign minister also stressed that actions should be taken that would unilaterally change "status quo" of Kashmir.

‘Illegal so-called China Pakistan Ecomic Corridor’
Reacting to Wang's comments, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Jammu, Kashmir, and Lakh are an integral part of India, and that recent developments relating to region were "entirely a matter internal" to country.
" Chinese side is well aware of India's position that Jammu, Kashmir, and Lakh are an integral part of India, and that recent developments are entirely a matter internal to us," he said.

Kumar said India expects or countries to respect India's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We expect that or countries will respect India's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and desist from efforts to change status quo through illegal so-called China Pakistan Ecomic Corridor in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir," he said.

Pakistan’s unsuccessful attempt
Last month, India withdrew special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated state into Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Lakh, which will come into being on October 31.
" Kashmir issue, a dispute left from past, should be peacefully and properly dressed in accordance with UN Charter, Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement," Chinese foreign minister said in his dress to UN General Assembly on Friday. " actions that would unilaterally change status quo should be taken. As a neighbour of both India and Pakistan, China hopes to see dispute effectively mand and stability restored to relationship between two sides," Wang said.

India's decision on Kashmir evoked strong reactions from Pakistan, which downgred diplomatic ties and expelled Indian ambassor. Pakistan has also been unsuccessfully trying to rally international support against India on Kashmir issue.
