‘India To Have Its Own Space Station by 2035’, says Union Minister Jitendra Singh

India will have established its own space station by the year 2035 and it will be known as "Bharatiya Antriksh Station", said Union Minister Jitendra Singh

New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Techlogy, Jitendra Singh on Saturday anunced that India will have established its own station by year 2035 and it will be kwn as "Bharatiya Antriksh Station".

At MoU signing ceremony of ISRO and Department of Biotechlogy, Jitendra Singh said, “India will have its own Station by 2035, which will be kwn as Bharatiya Antriksh Station.”

Earlier in September, Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved building of first unit of Bharatiya Anatriksh Station by extending scope of Gaganyaan program.

When Will Bharatiya Anatriksh Station Be Launched?

first module of station is planned for launch by 2028.

Approval by cabinet is given for development of first module of Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS-1) and undertake missions to demonstrate and validate various techlogies for building and operating BAS. To revise scope & funding of Gaganyaan Programme to include new developments for BAS & precursor missions, and ditional requirements to meet ongoing Gaganyaan Programme, according to a statement released by Prime Minister Office. 

Union Cabinet has approved three or major missions such as Chandrayaan-4, Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM), and Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV).
