Indian Army hands over 20 military horses & 10 mine-detection dogs to Bangladesh Army
The Indian Army, on Tuesday, has gifted 20 fully trained military horses and 10 mine detection dogs to the Bangladesh Army

In a bid to strengn bilateral relations, Indian Army has gifted 20 fully trained military horses and 10 mine detection dogs to Banglesh Army on Tuesday. Indian Army also passed on required information for training and handling of dogs to ir Bangleshi counterparts. During handover on Tuesday, Indian Army delegation was led by Major General Narinder Singh Khroud, Chief of Staff of Brahmastra Corps whereas Banglesh Army Delegation was led by Major General Mohamm Humayun Kabir, who is Commanding Jessore based Division.
presentation ceremony was held at Petrapole- Benapole Integrated Check Post (ICP) on India - Banglesh Border. Brigier JS Cheema from Indian High Commission in Dhaka was also present at event. equines and canines were trained by Remount and Veterinary Corps of Indian Army.

“ performance of military dogs in Indian Army has been commendable. We are always rey to extend our assistance to a friendly country like Banglesh in issues concerning security. When it comes to security, dogs have proven ir mettle. dogs which have been handed over, are extremely effective in mine detection and contraband items,” a senior Army official said.
In a similar bid, Indian Army h gifted 10 mine-detecting dogs to Banglesh Army in December last year as a goodwill gesture. All ten dogs that were handed over today were trained to detect mines and or explosives at Remount Veterinary Centre in Meerut.
