Indian Army, NDRF and local authorities rescue 18-month-old from 60-feet borewell in Haryana

The Indian Army at Hisar Military Station was contacted by civil authorities and police on Wednesday 5:45 PM to conduct a rescue operation after a 18 months old child, Nadeem, had fallen into a borewell near Balsamand in Hisar, Haryana. 

The child was successfully rescued and handed over to the parents.

The Indian Army provided comprehensive  humanitarian assistance to the civil administration. They sent their reconnaissance party on the site and the Army engineers prepared the heavy equipment of dozers and JCB, while the civil dministration provided excavators and JCB.

The reconnaissance party, on arrival at the site, had emphasised on the need for a camera to observe the health of the child stuck inside the borewell, which was then provided by the civil authorities. 

In the joint exercise, the Army team advised the civil administration to bring NDRF experts who arrived the location from Ghaziabad. 

The Army engineers with assistance of civilian excavators had already started digging at to construct a connecting tunnel 60 feet deep to avoid any harm to the child.  

The 1 and a half year old child was then rescued in conjunction with the support from civil administration and local populace.
