Guwahati: Indian Army on Saturday organised a medical camp in the remote village of Kordoiguri in Tinsukia district, Assam , on Saturday as part of Operation Sadbhavana. 

A team of five general physicians—three from the Civil PHCs of Bandarkhati and nearby tea estates, and two from the Army—along with nursing staff, delivered comprehensive medical services to over 900 residents.

The medical camp provided check-ups, consultations, essential healthcare services, and distributed medication. This initiative not only addressed immediate health concerns but also highlighted the significance of preventive health measures.

On September 9, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and other security forces carried out extensive search and recovery operations across multiple districts in Manipur , resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of arms and ammunition, according to an official release.

Acting on specific intelligence about weapon caches in areas such as Liklai, Mashemjang, P Geljang, Thoroilok, Gelmon, Molphai Tampak, Leisanbung, and Maulnghat in Churachandpur District, a joint operation was initiated involving the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and Manipur Police.

During the operation, they recovered two 9mm pistols with magazines, one single-barrel 12mm bore gun, 17 locally improvised long-range mortars, one AK series rifle, one carbine machine gun, one sniper rifle, one INSAS rifle, three single-barrel rifles, three additional pistols, six improvised mortars, and various warlike stores. The seized weapons and materials have been handed over to the Manipur Police, an official statement said.
