Indian Army's awareness camp on snow avalanche in J&K's Baramulla earns praise from locals
Avalanche rescue team of Indian Army organised a rescue and awareness camp on snow avalanches in Jammu-Kashmir's Baramulla district for local residents.

Indian Army's avalanche rescue team on Monday organised awareness-cum-demonstration camp showing how to rescue people trapped during sw avalanches in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A unit of avalanche rescue team organised a live demonstration of drills and briefed locals about protocols and basic requirements during rescue operations.
In-charge of avalanche unit Lieutenant Colonel Prince Rohit informed, "Because of difficult terrain conditions of Pir Panjal and heavy swfall during harsh winter months, Indian Army Avalanche Rescue Team always remains on high-alert. Army endeavours to spre awareness on hazards of avalanches to local residents in areas close to Line of Control (LoC). Army is always re for m in case of any eventuality." [Sic.]

During live drill, Indian Army also informed locals about medical facilities, emergency kits and or necessary equipment needed at time of rescue operation on sw avalanches. unit said that Avalanche rescue team is capable of meeting any eventuality in se areas. Captain Karamveer Singh, who is a trainer from avalanche unit, said, “With specialised training, state-of--art equipment, and experience in operating in tough terrains, avalanche rescue team is highly capable of meeting any eventuality in se areas."
