An Indian jeweller in the United States has created an impressive eco-friendly diamond statue in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , showcasing the artwork at an event where Modi addressed the Indian diaspora on Sunday. The statue took over a year to complete and reflects the jeweller's admiration for the Prime Minister.

Raj Kumar, the jeweller behind the creation, explained that the project has been in the works for a long time, noting, "We have been in the jewellery industry for over 100 years, establishing our brand. This project is something new for us, and it took about 1.5 years to complete, involving extensive research and design." He admitted that while perfection wasn't fully achieved, the statue embodies their vision: “It represents our heartfelt admiration for PM Modi. We carry that sentiment in our hearts.”

During his three-day visit to the United States for the QUAD Summit 2024 in Wilmington, Delaware, Prime Minister Modi addressed a gathering of 15,000 members of the Indian diaspora at Nassau Coliseum, representing 42 different states. He expressed gratitude towards the Indian community and US President Joe Biden , saying, “The Indian diaspora is our brand ambassador.”

At the QUAD Summit, which included leaders from Australia and Japan, PM Modi emphasised the importance of respecting the sovereignty of nations. He stated, "This grouping is not against anyone, but for a rules-based international order and respect for sovereignty." In his opening remarks, he referenced China, saying, “A free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific is our priority.”

In addition to his diplomatic discussions, Modi participated in the Quad Cancer Moonshot event hosted by President Biden, where he announced a grant of US $7.5 million for cancer testing, screening, and diagnostics in the Indo-Pacific region.

Highlighting the spirit of collaboration between India and the United States, Modi remarked, "For the world, AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, but I believe AI means American-Indian. This is the American-Indian spirit, and this AI power is taking India-US relations to new heights."

The unveiling of the diamond statue and Modi's address served as a powerful reminder of the growing ties between the two nations and the appreciation for the contributions of the Indian diaspora.
