Warsaw: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday arrived in Poland to hold a bilateral talk with his counterpart in Poland. prime minister was warmly welcomed by Indian diaspora at hotel in Poland's Warsaw as he arrived re. PM Modi is on a two-day official visit to Poland, marking first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in past 45 years. During his visit, PM Modi will hold meetings with his Polish counterpart and President, and will also engage with Indian community. Later today Prime Minister will first lay a wreath at memorial of Jam Saheb of Nawanagar.

First PM To Visit Poland In 45 Years
memorial is dedicated to Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji, a former Maharaja of Nawanagar (now Jamnagar). In 1942, Maharaja established Polish Children's Camp in Jamnagar for refugee Polish children who were brought out of USSR during World War II.

He will also visit monument to Battle of Monte Cassino. monument commemorates victory of soldiers of Second Polish Corps at Battle of Monte Cassino during Second World War in 1944. Second Polish Corps conquered hill and monastery on it. More than 900 Polish soldiers were killed in this battle.
PM will also visit Kolhapur Memorial jacent to this monument. This has been set up in memory of village in Kolhapur that hosted Polish children whom Jam Saheb of Nawangar h granted refuge. children were moved to Valive in Kolhapur in 1945.

Ahe of departing from New Delhi for his key visits to two countries, Prime Minister Modi said that he looks forward to helping create foundation for stronger and more vibrant relations with two countries in years ahe.
Prime Minister said that his visit comes as both countries mark 70 years of diplomatic relations.

"My visit to Poland comes as we mark 70 years of our diplomatic relations. Poland is a key economic partner in Central Europe. Our mutual commitment to democracy and pluralism furr reinforces our relationship. I look forward to meeting my friend Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to furr vance our partnership," PM Modi said in a statement.
Earlier speaking to ANI, India's Ambassor to Poland Nagma Mallick said, "We have a very good and growing bilateral tre turnover of about USD 6 billion, and balance of tre is very much in India's favour, we have good Indian investments here of around USD 3 billion and Polish investors have also invested in India of just under a billion dollars," Indian Ambassor said.
After he visits Poland, PM Modi will travel to Ukraine at invitation of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It will be first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine.
MEA Spokesperson Gives Overview Of PM's Visit To Poland
As Prime Minister Modi arrived in Poland, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal tweeted, “As PM Narendra Modi arrives in Warsaw, here is an overview of his 2-day visit to Poland.”
“This visit is special because it happens to be 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and India. This visit is also historic as visit by an Indian prime minister to Poland is happening after 45 years. He will shortly be visiting three memorials paying tribute at Good Maharaja Memorial. history behind se memorials connects Poland and India in a very special way,” Jaiswal said.
