Allahabad division becomes 'Prayagraj' division, Indian Railways issues notice 

On directions of Central government, Allahab Division of Indian Railways has been renamed as Prayagraj Division, Ministry of Railways informed on Saturday. 

"It is hereby tified for general information that Central Government has decided to change name of Allahab Division to Prayagraj Division. names of or Railway offices in this Division, bearing name 'Allahab', may also be changed accordingly," tification issued by Ministry of Railways re.

 Indian Railway Conference Association also sent a letter to Principal Chief Commercial Manr of rrn Railway for registering name 'Prayagraj' and new station codes of two stations. It is said that changes have come into force with immediate effect.

'ALY' to 'PRRB' station

name of Allahab City (ALY) station has been changed to Prayagraj Rambagh (PRRB) station, while name of Prayag Ghat (PYG) station will be changed to Prayagraj Sangam (PYGS), in accordance to letter dressed to Principal Chief Commercial Manr, rrn Railway.

Earlier this week, Indian Railways h officially tified that four Railway stations in Uttar Presh's Prayagraj will w sport new names, in a bid to revive  identity of ancient city.

As per  official communication on Thursday, Allahab Junction will w be Prayagraj Junction, Allahab City will be kwn as Prayagraj Rambagh, Allahab Chhioki has been renamed as Prayagraj Chheoki and name of Prayag Ghat will change to Prayagraj Sangam.

Piyush Goyal anunces renaming

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said that Central government and Uttar Presh government, have decided to rename all 'Allahab' railway divisions located in Prayagraj district. Taking to Twitter, Goyal also shared imd of renamed boards at station.
