Indian Railways helped Sashwat locate his mother after he was unable to find her aboard the Ajmer Sealdah Express train on September 30. The young man was unable to contact his mother after she got on board the train, which led him to tweet the Indian Railways and ask for help. He also tagged Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, saying he was unable to talk to her and wanted to know if she was okay.
Railways' prompt response
In a prompt response that came in just a few minutes after he posted the tweet, from Indian Railways Seva, Sashwat was asked for his mother's PNR and contact number. The Seva further asked him for additional logistics to help find his mother quickly. The request was then forwarded to the Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol in West Bengal.
Mother-son connected
After the request was forwarded, DRM Asansol, through the ticket checker, helped the mother talk to her son. Sashwat, while thanking the Indian Railways, also confirmed through a tweet that he was able to talk to his mother.
Twitter users were immensely impressed by the Indian Railways' prompt response and a lot of users tweeted, heaping praises for the organisation.
