Indian Railways launches app for contactless ticket checking at Mumbai station

The Central Railway Mumbai Division launched an App called the 'CheckIn Master' for contactless ticket checking at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus

In a bid to contain spre of Coronavirus,  Central Railway Mumbai Division launched an App called 'Check-In Master' for contactless ticket checking at  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai, public relations department of  Central Railway said.

app will help checking staff to perform duties without any fear, as app has OCR and QR code scanning features to check PRS and UTS tickets from a safe distance. Hand-held rmal guns were also provided for rmal screening of passengers.

ditionally, Flap-based gates would be installed at entry/exit with automatic QR-code-based ticket checking. This would be done in next phase, to be implemented soon. check-in Master App would be used for attendance and real-time monitoring of ticket-checking staff as well.

Private Investment On Passenger Trains

Menawhile, in a major development on Wednesday, Ministry of Railways organised a pre-application conference for first initiative of private investment for running passenger trains in India. Applicants were invited on board to hold first pre-bid meeting on privatising passenger trains in Delhi. Ministry received around 16 prospective applicants, reported news ncy ANI. ministry invited 12 requests for qualifications for private participation in operation of passenger train services over 109 Origin Destination pair of routes through introduction of 151 modern Trains (Rakes) which shall be in dition to existing trains operated on network.

In a statement,  Railway ministry said, "This is first initiative of private investment for running Passenger Trains over Indian Railway Network.
