Even as nation celebrated festival of lights on Sunday, India's permanent representative to UN Syed Akbaruddin celebrated his Diwali 10,000 feet above ground. Taking to Twitter, Akbaruddin said that re are few people who celebrates Diwlai warly and few are late. Differentiating himself, he said that few celebrate Diwali 10000 feet high. He posted a picture of a plate of food served to him on plane with a battery operated LED candle.

PM Modi celebrates Diwali with jawans

Continuing with his trition to celebrate Diwali with Indian forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday celebrated this year's Diwali with forces in forward areas of Rajouri along Line of Control (LoC). Taking to his social media accounts, PM Modi has shared a number of pictures of celebration with jawans. While he can be seen offering sweets to jawans in one picture, he is seen saluting alongside Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, and rn Army commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh. On his way back to  from Rajouri, he also interacted with air warriors and personnel of army at Pathankot Air Force Station. In 2018, PM Modi spent Diwali with soldiers at  Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Harsil vill near India-China border.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi ded: "Celebrated Diwali with brave soldiers of Indian Army in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. It is always a matter of great joy to be able to interact with se courous personnel." He also said that he thanked jawans on behalf of people of India for ir monumental service. "ir vigilance and valour keeps our nation safe," he ded.
