Indigo Flight Suffers Tailstrike During Take-Off At Delhi Airport, Crew Derostered

The airlines informed that its flight A321 aircraft was grounded in Bangalore due to a tail strike on September 9.

New Delhi: The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing the incident of an Indigo aircraft's tail-strike incident and has de-rostered the flight crew. The incident took place on September 9.

In a statement, the airlines informed that its flight A321 aircraft was grounded in Bangalore due to a tail strike on September 9. The incident took place during Delhi-Bengaluru flight.

"The aircraft is currently under maintenance and will be back in operation post necessary repairs. The incident is under investigation," the airline said.

According to the senior official at DGCA, the flight crew has been off rostered and the incident is under investigation.

After the incident, the flight’s tail area suffered damages when it hit the runway during the take-off from Delhi. It’s a serious incident as the tail-strike can lead to structural damages in the plane.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. The pilot had informed the ATC about the incident which gave clearance to land. The passengers were de-boarded and required arrangements were made for them.
